Miskanawah and Planet Youth Calgary are excited to announce the first ever Planet Youth Indigenous retreat! Named by our Youth Elder Council, the Connecting Generations Youth Retreat: Our Stories, Our Strength, Our Generation is a free weekend camp for Indigenous youth aged 14-18.

As Indigenous youth, YOUR VOICE MATTERS, and YOU CAN HELP SHAPE FUTURE PROGRAMS FOR YOUR COMMUNITY!

Join the Miskanawah Planet Youth Team, Elders, and other young people for meaningful conversations, cultural connection, fun activities, and opportunities to strengthen your voice and your community.

Retreat Details

Dates: October 16-18, 2026

Transportation: Bus departs from Miskanawah East on Friday TBA

Location: Camp Horizon near Bragg Creek, approximately 45 minutes outside Calgary

Cost: Free

Who: Indigenous youth aged 14-18

What We'll Do

  • Hand Games and making your own Stick Games set
  • A Knowledge Keeper guided Medicine Teaching hike
  • Archery on the land
  • Campfire stories with Elders
  • Elder "speed-dating" to share your opinions
  • Cultural crafts including beading, medicine pouches, and more
